George Handel, the greatest composer to have ever lived (according to Beethoven), said “My lord, I should be sorry if I only entertained them. I wish to make them better.” He said this when he was lauded for his fine performance by Lord Kinnoul.
George Handel’s famous ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ was inspired by his love for God. “Messiah… has fed the hungry, clothed the naked, fostered the orphan… more than any other single musical production in this or any country.”
Anyone in the classical music community has heard about Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. I’m not a classical music fan of any sort but enjoy listening to music. Ones that glorify God or at least is sourced from Godly inspiration.
“Music’s only purpose should be for the glory of God and the recreation of the human spirit.” – Bach
“God is ever before my eyes. I realize His omnipotence and I fear His anger; but I also recognize His love, His compassion, and His tenderness towards His creatures.” – Mozart
“I will place all my confidence in your eternal goodness, O God! My soul shall rejoice in Thee, immutable Being. Be my rock, my light, forever my trust.” – Beethoven
